இதோ 2011 ம் ஆண்டு மாத அட்டவணை.

As usual thanks for your comments and support. I have been doing this only for myself and I find that there no easy tamil calendar available. So I started publishing on my blog and yes, lot of responses. Its great.

I would like to mention that I m working in Singapore n I am doing is after my work , and I am sorry for some you that I am not able to act to your expectations to update in timely manner.

Here is the Tamil Monthly Calendar. You may Click on the picture to enlarge, Save.

To Take Print, Print with Option of Fit to Page and Print in Landscape. This would be helpful for those who do not get Monthly Calendar / Who do not get south Indian Monthly Calendar In their Place.

Installing Language is support is very very easy when compared to windows XP. In windows XP to install additional language and complex scrips you have first install the language pack. But this is not the case with windows vista in which it is just out of the box.

1. Go To control panel –> Regional and Language Settings –> Go to Keyboards and Languages Tab

Click on Change Keyboards…

Click on Add (in installed services)

Now you will see list of Languages available. This is far more than windows XP and just out of the box.

Now you can select any languages you want and the keyboard layout given in the list. You can also preview the keyboard layout to make sure of the layout or to know the keyboard layout.

Thus the lanugage support in Windows Vista is far easy and better than windows XP. It takes some time for the people to adopt to Windows Vista but it has lot many features, which i will cover one by one in future.

If you want your desktop (WindowsXP) to  look in your own language. Get Language Interface pack from microsoft.

Download it here (Tamil – தமிழ்), Also available for other languages – go here and get your language pack. It is currently available for 27 Languages including Hindi. 

Warning: Some of the shortcuts in control panel still display tamil names even after uninstalling the language pack.

This post is meant for Tamil Readers..

There are quiet a number of Tamil Sites. Each tamil news papers have their websites and each websites are build with their own fonts. So you got to download the font and install. There is no single standard followed. This situation can be minimized when you use unicode fonts. There are numerous unicode fonts available. Further most operating systems supports unicode and most common operating system , Windows XP/2000 natively supports unicode. How ever when you want to compose you might need to install additional languages and options. The Default unicode font the comes along with Windows XP is Latha. The title of this post also contains the same font. When you are printing or when you want to design then you might consider using different styles of unicode fonts.

You can download Tamil unicode fonts that i collected from http://www.barathonline.com/downloads/downloads.htm where i have a compressed file (ZIP) which contains 120 fonts.

There are some difficulties also when using unicode fonts. These fonts are not supported by yahoo messenger, Adobe softwares such as Photoshop, Acrobat, Flash etc. How ever in some places if the design content is small. you can type some where in notepad and then copy and paste. you may try that on yahoo messenger.
